Who Are Our Volunteers?

Our volunteers are a team of dedicated individuals working together to achieve our organization’s goals. Volunteers come from all segments of our population; young and old, students, stay-at-home moms, working people, retirees. They also represent a diverse mix of cultural, ethnic, racial, and religious groups. Our volunteer team is made up of a wonderful pool of skills, talents, personalities, and backgrounds, all sharing a common passion for the well-being of children.

What Do Volunteers Do?

Volunteers are placed in assignments that fit their unique abilities, skills, and personality while best meeting the needs of the organization. Our volunteer opportunities include:

  • Special event volunteers
  • Tutors
  • Drivers
  • P.A.L. (mentor)

Volunteers as Part of the Team

Our volunteers are part of our team. As such, they are selected, trained, and equipped to perform their duties at the highest level of proficiency. Regular evaluations and on-going training are part of the process used by Volunteer Services to ensure that our volunteers continue to be effective in achieving our mission. Volunteers are here because they love children and want to do whatever they can to assist the agency. By utilizing our volunteers in meaningful tasks, by encouraging them in their work, and by thanking them for their service, we can show our appreciation for this important part of the team.
