In the past, Hamilton Child and Family Supports hosted Adoption Information Nights throughout the year to provide information for potential adoptive parents. However, during the latter part of 2020 and early 2021, we experienced an overwhelming number of adoption applications, which led to the pause of our adoption information meetings and our acceptance of new applications. We do thank you for your interest in adoption and most of all, your patience.

At this time, we will begin to accept inquiries into adoption. However, we need to be clear about the children we have available for adoption, and the kinds of applications that we will be accepting. As a public agency, we will not be able to accept applications for infants and toddlers. Most of the children we are looking to match, are five and over and we already have many approved applicants. Therefore, we are looking for adoptive families who are open to older children who have likely been exposed prenatally to alcohol/drugs, experienced developmental trauma and have complex needs.

Your first step will be for you to visit the Centralized Adoption Intake, Ontario’s Adoption Information Service found at https://adoption.on.ca/ci/

After you have explored that website, if you are still interested in pursuing a public adoption, please answer the following questions:

If you were able to say yes to the above questions, here are the next steps.

Please send us an email at: adoptioninfo@hamiltoncas.com, which includes your:

  • Full legal name(s)
  • Date(s) of birth
  • Address and phone numbers
  • Email address(es)

After you have submitted your information, it will be reviewed, and you will be contacted by a worker.
