The Children’s Aid Society of Hamilton hosts Adoption Information Nights periodically throughout the year to provide information for potential adoptive parents. Adoption Information Nights are held at the agency at 26 Arrowsmith Road, which is off Centennial Parkway, across from The Home Depot. Ample free parking is available on site.

Attendance at an Adoption Information Night is a mandatory step in the adoption process. The night consists of a presentation at the agency, which will provide potential adoptive parents with information about the needs and ages of children who are available for adoption, as well as further details about the adoption process.

The majority of children we place for adoption are available due to a court decision terminating parental rights. Additionally, the Society offers services to birth mothers who wish to voluntarily place their child for adoption and, on occasion, we have a relinquished child for whom we are seeking an adoptive home.

Many adoptive applicants feel unsure about adopting a child with special needs, or adopting a toddler, preschooler or older child. We encourage you to contact us to speak with an Adoption Intake Worker in more detail about your specific situation and to attend an Adoption Information Night at our agency. We will provide education and support through every step of the process.

For those of you who would like to consider adopting a child through our Society, we offer a range of services delivered by experienced staff intended to provide you with information, guidance, and support. We want you to be active participants in this process and ultimately make the decision that is best for you and your family as to the type of child you feel best suited to parent. We provide extensive information and preparation to our adoptive families about any child they may be interested in.

We welcome the opportunity to become part of your adoption journey, knowing that the journey will be unique for each family. As you consider the option of parenting through adoption, we encourage you to attend an Adoption Information Night with us.

At this time, our current adoption information night is full. We will be scheduling dates for the Fall and encourage you to check back at a later date.
