He likes to colour, loves to read,
swim in the pool or build a fort in the woods. But just three
years ago, Margaret and
Ed’s newest grandchild was living a life of desperation with
his cocaine-addicted mother and abusive boyfriend. He still has
nightmares that she may come back to get him. But through the Society’s
programs and professional support, its partnerships with the community
and the love surrounding him in his new home, he has a new chance
at life.
There
are too many children like him in our community. And that’s
what this Campaign is all about – giving children in desperate
situations an opportunity not just to survive but to thrive.
To meet the growing needs
in this community, we have undertaken the "Our Kids. All They
Have is You." Campaign. With
the support of
this
initiative, the CAS of Hamilton has moved into a new home at
the Poscor Centre for Children at Risk – almost tripling its
capacity to help kids, while costing less than constructing
a new facility or
leasing. Now that we have the appropriate infrastructure, we
are looking to expand programs and partnerships.
Our Campaign goal
is $3 million. Please support this effort –
we
need your help so that we can continue to give the most vulnerable
children and families every opportunity to flourish.
